December Fabric Market & The Biltmore! | Christy's Draperies

Published by Christy Sullivan on Nov 30th 2017

My daughter and I are getting ready to go to the December International Market in High Point North Carolina. We always look forward to this trip. Some would say it is a working trip, which it is, but we have fun. Looking at all the new fabrics is a dream come true for those of us that have a love of fabric and what it can do for a room. We have been to this show many times and already know many vendors, but we always seek out new sources. Traveling with her mom has it challenges for my daughter as I can get picky about where we eat. She drives us everywhere we go, so she has to put up with me talking while she is trying to find her way. All in all it is a gift that I get to spend this time with her.

This year we are leaving early to see America's Largest Home- The Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC.  Everyone has told us how beautiful it is during the Christmas Season. We are very excited!

We are back from our trip to the International Fabric Market in High Point North Carolina. The Biltmore Estate was our first stop before going to the Fabric Market. What an experience!  Such grand rooms with beautiful designs. Of course we were interested in the fabrics and draperies in the house and we weren’t disappointed. The styles used in the house were classic and in style today. The drapery hardware used were very large with huge rods, rings and end pieces.
Aside from the visit to the Biltmore Estate, we gathered up new ideas for our store and many new fabrics. Stay tuned for more!
